Len Pattison — VT, NY
Mr. Pattison is the President, Chairman of the Board and a founding partner of Control Technologies. He began his career with Johnson Controls in Hartford, Connecticut in 1970. Mr. Pattison worked at Johnson Controls for 16 years and held various technical, application engineering and project manager positions in the business of Environmental Control Systems and Facilities Management Systems in commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings. In 1986, he left Johnson Controls to form Control Technologies Inc. His responsibilities were engineering, designing, and managing the installation of Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems and Open Systems use to manage comfort control in buildings.
Mr. Pattison is currently responsible for the P&L of the Commercial and Industrial Controls Division, the Service Division, the Testing and Balance Division, the Building Performance Division, and the Security Solutions Division for the Vermont Corporate headquarters office and the New York City offices. The primary focus of our business is the design and implementation of Environmental and Process Control Systems, Energy Management Systems and related products and services for commercial buildings.
Education: Mechanical Engineering degree from the Porter School for Engineering and Design in Hartford, CT. Mr. Pattison also studied Business Administration at Trinity College in Burlington, VT.
Bruce Merges — NH, MA, and CA
Mr. Merges is the Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Control Technologies and has more than 30 years of experience in the building automation industry. He began his career in controls at Johnson Controls and worked in the Burlington, Vermont office. Mr. Merges then took the opportunity to work in the International Division; first in the Middle East, and then Seoul, Korea where he started a new office. Mr. Merges came back to New England in 1989 and joined Control Technologies as a partner and opened the New Hampshire branch office. Mr. Merges is currently responsible for the New Hampshire, Massachusetts and California branches.
