Why The Need For The Energy Optimization Strategy (EOS)?
Facility Automation Systems are designed to save energy but are rarely optimized for that purpose.
Why not?
- First cost considerations usually sacrifice long term operational efficiency.
- Few facilities are rarely re-commissioned.
- Generally accepted design concepts have evolved and become more efficient since original design.
- Changes are made to the facility and its use.
- Performance of complex HVAC systems degrade without continuous commissioning (tune-ups).
What is EOS?
EOS is continuous commissioning and more. It is the application of Control Technologies’ proprietary software algorithms in order to minimize energy consumption. We’ll also apply good old fashioned common sense—making sure equipment is operating correctly and schedules are optimized, for example.
How do I sign up for EOS?
- The 24-month and 5-year EOS agreements are offered as an extension to our preventative maintenance service. A cash EOS project can be purchased separately from any service contract.
- One of our Energy Managers will complete an energy bill evaluation, interview, and site survey, at no charge to you.
- If there is potential, we’ll develop a simple proposal.
Is EOS guaranteed? Yes!
This is the best part. If you enroll in the 24-month or the 5-year program, the performance of EOS is completely guaranteed. If you don’t save on your energy bills then you don’t owe us a dime for the EOS service. In fact, payments are structured such that your savings will always exceed your payments. Most customers should experience significant positive cash flow as a result of the savings generated by EOS.
What about the details?
Choose between a 24-month or 5-year cooperative agreement with no initial payment, shared savings, and the EOS guarantee, or a paid up front cash program.
- A baseline is created using historical energy bills.
- Going forward, savings are generated as energy consumption decreases relative to the baseline.
- In most cases, savings will be between 5% and 15%, but higher returns are certainly possible.
- Some portion of the savings go to CTI as payment. You retain the rest. Shared savings means that both you and CTI are motivated to save energy.
- With the guarantee, your net benefit is always positive. We do the work and you save!
