Smarter Technology for More Efficient Buildings

At Control Technologies Inc., we help buildings become smarter using digital tools and cloud products. We connect all the important systems in a building—like heating, air conditioning, lights, and security. This way, they work together through our CloudBAS™️solutions.

With our digital services, you can watch, control, and fix problems from anywhere. You can even use a phone or laptop. This makes buildings more comfortable, safer, and energy-efficient. It also saves money through our comprehensive building automation solutions.

What Are Digital Services and Cloud Products?

Digital services are smart tools that help buildings run better. Cloud products are programs that run through the internet instead of on a single computer. CloudBAS™️gives you remote access to building automation systems (BAS) that use Niagara Tridium N4 software. When we combine both, buildings can:

  • Use energy better through fault detection
  • Be safer for everyone inside with strong security
  • Send alerts when something’s wrong through constant monitoring
  • Be managed from anywhere with secure web access

This helps a lot in hospitals, schools, offices, and factories. These places need to manage many systems at once. As a trusted automation company, we specialize in making these complex technologies simple and accessible.

Our Digital Services

Here’s what we offer:

Remote Monitoring and Control

CloudBAS™️remote access provides remote access to an existing on-premise BAS through a site-to-site VPN. Both Niagara N4 supervisors and Jaces are supported. A firewall is provided and installed on site, which establishes a secure connection to our cloud services using military grade encryption such as IPSec and AES-256. Users can remotely access the web interface of their BAS via a secure web portal.

Cloud-Based Building Automation

CloudBAS™️cloud hosting migrates the existing physical BAS server on your premises to our cloud. This provides a virtual instance of your BAS which communicates with field controllers in your building. The physical infrastructure is built with data center grade computer components designed to be more reliable and last longer than consumer grade components. Our cloud environment provides >99.98% uptime with redundancy and resiliency.

Analytics and Reporting

CloudFDD™️is a Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD) solution that enhances BAS performance by proactively identifying issues before they escalate into costly failures. The analytics software uses BAS real-time and historical data with fault detection rules to detect issues. Summary PDF reports with details of all faults found are automatically emailed monthly and quarterly, with quarterly reports reviewed by our programmers.

Alarm Management

CloudFDD™️provides continuous autonomous monitoring of data for quick identification of faults before larger issues occur. The faults can be customized for individual buildings and equipment. Rules are written using formulas and BAS data to look for patterns and expected conditions – when data values deviate from expected ranges, faults are generated with specific diagnostic messages.

Cybersecurity Protection

CloudBAS™️Security provides endpoint detection and response (EDR), operating system patch management, and next generation firewall (NGFW) features including intrusion detection/prevention, malware protection, website filtering, and application control. All solutions are designed around cyber security guidelines like ISO 27001/27002, SOC 2, and various regulatory standards. The firewall blocks unauthorized access and prevents the building automation services from accessing malicious command and control systems.

Who Needs These Services?

FAQs

What are cloud products in building management?
Cloud products let you control things like heating, and lights, from your phone or computer. They make it easy to run a building more smoothly and save energy.
How do connected building solutions help?

Connected building solutions link all the systems in a building—like HVAC—so they work better together. You can control everything from one place, even when you’re not there.

What is video surveillance, and why is it important?

Video surveillance means using cameras to watch over a building. It helps keep people and property safe by letting you see what’s happening in real-time or on saved video.

What does energy metering do?

Energy metering tracks how much electricity, gas, or water your building uses. It helps you find out what’s using the most energy so you can save money and reduce waste.

What is an energy dashboard?

An energy dashboard shows you all your building’s energy use on one screen. It’s like a report card for energy, helping you spot problems and make smart changes.

How do access control systems work?

Access control systems let you choose who can enter your building or rooms. People use keycards, codes, or even fingerprints to get in, helping keep the place secure.

What is building recommissioning?

Building recommissioning means checking all your systems—like HVAC—to make sure they still work the right way. It’s like giving your building a tune-up to save energy.

What are utility rebates?

Utility rebates are rewards or money-back offers from energy companies when you install energy-saving tools. They help cover the cost of upgrades like new lighting or smart thermostats.

What does energy optimization mean?

CloudFDD™️uses fault detection rules to find where HVAC sequences or equipment changes could improve performance. For example, demand-based static pressure setpoint reset sequences that reduce supply fan energy use, or finding excess pumping in water loops.

Why use commercial energy optimization services?

CloudFDD™️provides 24/7 monitoring that finds performance and degradation issues within systems. Traditional BAS alarming might miss these issues. Examples include steam heating valves leaking by or low delta temperature across hot/chilled water loops indicating excess pumping.
